For me, it’s my Magickal Journal. It contains so many of my own deepest experiences and being able to go back to it and re-assess conversations I’ve had with spirits, or see how I performed an incantation last time I used one, or just writing down notes from occult books I'm reading has brought me so much illumination and utility.

Honestly have no idea how I could practice magick without it.

If you didn't write it down, did it even happen?

I'll second this too, a journal is fantastic and not just for the evaluation of potential cognitive dissonance.

I have a stone that I keep on my altar that I call my "home stone". When I was a teenager leaving home to go away to college, I walked around our yard and found a nice stone that I could take with me to remind me of home and to keep me "grounded." I've taken that stone with me to every place I've lived. I'm 59 years old now and that stone is in a place of honour on my household altar.

This ritual bowl my sister in law made for me. Made with hand dug clay, the red is imbued with a few drops of blood, and the glaze has ground bone in it.

Do any of you guys have a favorite personal magickal item? If so what is it and why?
A set of Buddhist beads (108 apparently) that was given to me in kindness and reminds me there is good in the world, even as I see so much bad.

I think anything you personally make or that you bought from an independent creator has more meaning than if you order it online or from a big box store

My favorite one is my sword. I engraved it myself, using the Hebrew names listed in the Key of Solomon, the sigil listed in the Universal Treatise of the Keys of Solomon (both the names and the sigil were sources from Skinner's The Veritable Key of Solomon, which contains three separate manuscripts), and the Greek names Dionysus and Hekate as my own personal syncretic inclusions. I did all the engraving and the final consecrations during the Day and Hour of Jupiter.
