Not sure what kind of crystal ball I should try.

(sorry if this sounds crazy but...)

Since I was a teenager, I see images all day with my eyes closed, and they would sometimes project outwards in the dark or shawdows in the air or wall. So I just realised that maybe I should try scrying with a crystal ball, and see if the images project onto the ball. I was wondering if anyone knows what ball would be best, like a black one, crystal, what properities should it have etc?

I personally prefer black obsidian for this purpose. I like for it to be larger if possible because it allows you to more easily focus on it. That’s actually the same reason I like large obsidian mirrors and black concave scrying mirrors. I find they act as excellent meditation focus points that can work as portals for out of body travel, and are not limited to simply scrying. You can also use it for when you want to call forth a spirit and I use mine to represent the void but you don’t have to do that.

Traditionally black obsidian is used for its mirror-like, non-distracting surface, ideal for seeing images in the reflection, especially by candlelight. However, many people like clear quartz best for gazing into the sphere because its internal fractures and rainbows create natural focal points for visions. I imagine you could use any gemmy crystal such as Amethyst, some fluorite, smoky quartz, citrine, etc… You could of course still pick a different type of quartz but I personally prefer and recommend obsidian since I find flashy stones like labradorite distracting when scrying.🦇✨

Thanks, that is what I was thinking, a black obsidian ball. Not sure if I will get a big one just yet, maybe medium, to test out.

You’re welcome. 🦇✨
My first one was only 60mm. I use a 100mm one now
. But if your eyesight is better than mine you could probably work with a smaller one if you needed to.
