Methodology is simple enough, if you're capable of astral projection and conjuring in the astral plane. I'll share my method for receiving succubi.
I perform the preparatory work for astral projection: raising my awareness, freeing myself of physical worry, commanding my body to sleep, building an energy barrier, and raising my perception out of my body. For the specific methods I use for these, consult The Gateway Experience tapes 1-6 (Exploration, Sleep).
In the astral plane, I perform the Invocation of Satan found in the Satanic Bible. (As a Satanist, this is my preparatory rite for all ritual work, but you can use any invocation that grants you power from an astral being - Invocations of Hekate and Lilith work just as well, I've not explored others in this context)
After invoking and receiving elemental charge from the cardinal directions, I conjure an astral bed chamber around myself. Imagine whatever you like here as long as it is pleasing. I always opt for a regal bed chamber full of fine fabrics, fruit, and other luxuries, but it's your astral creation, under your control, so do whatever you like with it.
Then, I lay or sit on the bed and recite, "Satan, send me a comely succubus." I have no fear, so I care not for their name or attributes, but if you desire a specific presence, I would say, "Send me a succubus with XXX features," or "Send me the succubus named NN." Again, substitute Satan for the deity or force you work under, or use your own divine name if you utilized Liber Samekh or another self-targeted invocation.
After three repetitions, sometimes less or more, the succubus will appear. Command them around or don't, they are generally happy to do your bidding in exchange for essence. Fear not the loss of anything important, what is taken can be regained, and if your energy work is up to par you can even take from the succubus, which will cause them fear.
I would not use this method to summon powerful, named feminine deities, such as Lilith or Naamah. They typically do not come under the designation of another deity, and are much more...choosy. This method will summon underlings of all kinds, however.
